FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) – Police have arrested 22-year-old Demico Mitchell in connection with a shooting at a Florence intersection last week. Authorities believe Mitchell fired multiple shots at two people inside a vehicle at Weaver Road and Mission Lane on February 28.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but investigators found three bullet holes in the victims’ car.

Following an extensive investigation, detectives located the firearm used in the shooting and arrested Mitchell on Thursday.

Mitchell is now facing serious charges, including attempted murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. He is currently being held at the Kenton County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the shooting.
