A 45-year-old man from Auburn found himself in hot water on Friday after being caught stealing from the Walmart on North Road in Seneca Falls.

Daniel A. Jones was arrested by the Seneca Falls Police Department on January 3. Store employees noticed Jones picking up items and walking past the checkout counters without paying.

What made the situation worse was that Jones wasn’t even supposed to be in the store. Authorities revealed that he had previously been banned from entering Walmart by a legal order. Ignoring that order, he entered the store, stayed inside, and committed theft.

As a result, Jones is now facing serious charges. He has been charged with burglary in the third degree, which is a Class D felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. After his arrest, Jones was released with a ticket to appear in Seneca Falls Town Court on a future date.

This incident has left many in the community talking about the risks of ignoring legal restrictions and the consequences that follow.
