A 26-year-old woman accidentally drove her car into Lake Michigan near Grant Park on Saturday night, according to Chicago police.
The incident happened around 7:42 p.m. as she was driving south on the 800 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive. For unknown reasons, she lost control of her vehicle and went off the road, ending up in the lake.
Fortunately, she was not injured and was able to get back to shore on her own. However, emergency responders took her to Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a precaution to ensure she was safe and healthy.
As of now, her car remains partially submerged in the water. Authorities are investigating the incident, and she may face citations.
