Gallia County, Ohio – A man has been arrested following a scary incident involving gunshots near the village of Vinton. According to Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin, the incident happened just before 11:10 a.m. on Keystone Road.

A local resident reported that a man stopped in front of their home and fired several shots toward the house. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the ordeal.

Law enforcement quickly got to work, and deputies found evidence inside a vehicle linked to the incident. The driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old Richard “Rick” Burgett from Vinton, was taken into custody and is now in the Gallia County Jail.

Sheriff Champlin mentioned that Gallia County Prosecutor Jason Holdren will review the case and decide what charges Burgett will face.

The community is understandably shaken, but authorities are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served.
