ATLANTA, Ga. — A tragic accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy late Saturday night in DeKalb County, police have confirmed.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting on Shane Trail in Ellenwood around 10:56 p.m. When they arrived, they found the teen with a critical gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he passed away on Sunday morning.
According to investigators, the teenager accidentally shot himself. Before the incident, he had been involved in an argument with someone he knew on Flat Shoals Road in Panthersville.
