A tragic plane crash at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona has left one person dead and four others injured. The accident happened when a Bombardier Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the incident took place around 2:45 p.m. on February 10, 2025. The City of Scottsdale reported that the Learjet’s left main landing gear failed during landing, causing the aircraft to lose control. The jet was arriving from Austin, Texas.
Authorities confirmed that one person died upon impact. Emergency teams worked for hours to recover the victim’s body. Two people were critically injured and taken to local trauma centers, while another was hospitalized with less severe injuries. A fourth person declined medical treatment at the scene.
Jet Pros, LLC, the company that owns the Gulfstream jet, stated that no one was on board their parked aircraft at the time of the crash. While the Gulfstream sustained damage, no injuries were reported from their side. The company expressed their condolences to those affected and assured cooperation with investigators.
Following the crash, flights at Scottsdale Airport were temporarily suspended. Operations resumed approximately six hours later. Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky shared her condolences, saying, “We offer our deepest sympathies to those affected by this tragedy and will keep them in our prayers.” She also praised emergency responders for their quick response.
The Scottsdale Fire Department and Police Department remained at the scene throughout the evening, assisting with the ongoing investigation. The case has now been handed over to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which will conduct a full review of the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
